11 Year Little Girl Writing Club to Network of 5 million Pepole Global Community - Story of Fuzia Women Empowering Platform

Fuzia is a creative global community & talent showcase platform driven by women to help all individuals explore, express, and nurture their talents. Aims to empower them to use their creative voices and amplify them globally. With a vision  to Harness the power of social media to drive the new age of Empowerment, Feminism & Gender Equality.While speaking with Shraddha Varma Co-founder of fuzia over an email interaction she said.

Tell us about the beginning of Fuzia? 

Riya Sinha, Co-Founder of Fuzia, visualized the concept of Fuzia while studying at Palo Alto High School, California as an 11-year-old. She always loved creative writing as a child, so much so that she used to write creative endings of books when she wasn’t satisfied with the end! Riya loved writing stories, so with the help of a family friend, she wrote a book called ‘Runaway Twins’. She thought of the plot mostly by herself, just using her own imagination. It was about a pair of twins who solve a family matter to help save their family.

Later, reading her book, a 6-year-old girl came up to her with utmost exhilaration to tell Riya that she was inspired to write a book too and that she has made her realize her true calling. The incident seeded so deep in Riya and made her experience the potential of inspiration. She wanted to influence all the girls and women around the world to get inspired by each other. Thus, in 2012 she started Fuzia as a Writing club, a platform meant for schoolgirls to share their writings and essays. It is now fuzia.com, a venture that grew from 2 to 45 team members with the major vision of influencing and empowering creative females globally.

Tell us about Riya Sinha?

Riya Sinha was 11 years old when she witnessed the concept of Fuzia while studying at Palo Alto High School, California. Currently, Riya is entering her 2nd year at UC Berkeley, California, and dedicates part time to Fuzia. Riya focuses more on initiatives such as Fuzia.TV (videos and interviews of influential women) and helps gain partnerships with other companies to support Public Relations for Fuzia. She also promotes PR for Fuzia on all types of platforms. 

Tell us about you (Shraddha Varma)?

Apart from being a management professional, an experienced marketer, and an ambitious entrepreneur, I am a passionate learner and a creative thinker with strong communication and leadership skills. I believe that if women are to break away from the clutches of orthodox, patriarchal, pseudo/liberal patriarchal brackets, then economic independence becomes a prerequisite for them.

 

As a Cofounder, I not only lead the global marketing and operations in Fuzia but also drives and mentors her team in cross-culture environments. I strongly believe in gender equality and that women are the largest reservoir of untapped talent. With hopes of reaching out to every single woman who shares the idea of empowerment is long due, I struggle each day to make what I think should be a reality. Through Fuzia, I wish to positively impact and see a world where women can come together globally and help each other grow, live their passions, pursue their dreams and build their own identity- thereby driving Gender Equality, Feminism & Empowerment.

 

Fuzia is a one of its kind online social media platform for women and girls to encourage and empower each other through the power of creative expressions. It utilizes the power of the internet and gives them a stage to showcase their voice in an environment filled with creativity, inspiration, collaboration, compassion and empathy. In a span of 8 years, Fuzia has garnered support of thousands of creative women and influenced more than 5 million followers globally. I strongly believe that being a woman is a superpower in itself and henceforth, believes in encouraging other women to become their own inspiration. I am a thrill seeker, an avid traveler and an admirer of impactful quotes, with a vision to translate ideas into tangible results and creative initiatives.

How different is Fuzia from other women communities?

Fuzia is a platform, open to every individual, both men and women who support the cause of women empowerment, feminism, equality and mutual support/upliftment.  We believe it is different from other communities as Fuzia believes in “she for she” and “he for she” and also consider in the fact that true ‘Empowerment’ is incomplete without men supporting it. Moreover, they deem that an empowered woman is a happy woman, and they support ‘Happiness’ through 6 key elements, which are garnering relationships and friendships, learning and education, engagement and activities, wellness, charity and giving back and financial independence. 

Tell us about Future plans of Fuzia? 

As a group of individuals who look forward step by step towards attaining pillars of creative empowerment, community growth, individual strength and artistic magnification, we aspire to establish a space for women where they can be free from their own little cages and express themselves with true liberty. This space extends its hands through our wide world and believes in the strength of young minds! We believe that a society where women are strengthened is a society empowered in reality.

When we talk of our long-term plan in terms of empowering women, we see ourselves delved in the ocean of not only finding out talent, but nurturing it through live sessions, campaigns, online learning, webinars, workshops, experiential learning, contests and so on. These initiatives help women develop their skills and grow enormously. This talent is then showcased in every possible way through our website and various social media platforms. 

With the talent that many women come up with, we aspire to be of their economic benefit and opportunity through various ways. We, then aim to place the right skill at the right place, which benefits both, the company and its users economically. 

Tell us about What are the offers and benefits Fuzia offers to women and in what ways your community helps them?

Fuzia is essentially a platform for all individuals to showcase their talent and creativity. Believing that talent shared is talent encouraged, Fuzia marshals various campaigns and contents where both women and men participate globally, and the entries are studied thoroughly which later are provided with training and career opportunities in areas of their interest and expertise. 

Fuzia collaborates with their in-house talents and experts/ social media influencers, entrepreneurs, and inspirational women and organises interactive live sessions so that people can get their doubts sorted and get the right training to start their own ventures. 

We are positive that the chain of empowered men and women has taken a pace that will not satiate until each one of us is capable of living on our own and make their mark in the world. We all deserve to shine. Man-hating isn’t what should be seen as synonymous to feminism and women empowerment. We have always believed in the ultimate power of he for she and she for he. 

Fuzia focuses on boosting its individuals’ confidence and giving them their due recognition. Talents go unacknowledged; when you don’t get an appreciation for what you do and create your self-esteem gets battered! 

It must not be so; we live for our dreams and when dreams go unfulfilled people break down. Our sole purpose to celebrate women and their creative zeal so that they can live their dreams and our distance online setup facilitates it for everyone to access our community’s support and care.

 Fuzia.org is a Social Activism platform to enhance Fuzia’s vision to empower, educate and uplift women globally. It is a platform for local organisations and NGOs working towards causes related to education, women empowerment, upliftment of the unprivileged, women's health, acid attack victims, rape victims, betterment of the transgender community and a lot more.

We seek to celebrate women and their creative zeal so that they can live their dreams. Fuzia has been featured by various esteem platforms, such as Riya Sinha (Founder) has been awarded “Iconic Teen Entrepreneur and Innovator” at Women Economic Forum and has also been invited to TED Sonoma County, where she shared her story and called out for women to believe in themselves and achieve their dreams. Moreover, Shraddha Varma (Co-Founder) received the “Young leader creating a better world" award in 2018.
